Come on Greg Oden… where’s that inner Kobe Bryant? Where’s that jerkass that will make me feel better about missing out on that top pick? I want to be able to say “yes, he’s got talent, but he’s a self centered prick… so Portland can have him. He fits there.”

Shira Springer has to rub it in. So does Steve Bulpett. Greg Oden is funny and engaging… which makes sense… because at 38 years old… he’s had time to hone his social skills. But it’s not all Oden in this piece… it’s actually a piece on how the C’s are moving on and looking at who might fit in that 5th spot. Also in the Herald today: The C’s might not fill the vacancy left by Tony Brown.
Meanwhile… Georgetown’s Jeff Green has been mentioned as a possibility at 5 (too high for my tastes)… but it might not matter… because he might be going back to school. Hibbert is already back in school… so get ready for another Georgetown run next March.
And for anyone still hoping for Kobe Bryant in Boston (you’re probably the same people for cheered for him last season)… forget it. He’s not going anywhere.
