Contratulations to Bill Russell for making it into the Hall of Fame… The FIBA Hall of Fame.

1: Why isn’t Bill Russell in EVERY basketball hall of fame? I don’t care if it’s the Smalltown, Montana Boy’s CYO Hall of Fame… Bill Russell should be in it.
2: This really must be a tough Hall to get into… when these guys don’t make it in:
Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson didn’t make the cut, though they can be submitted again in two years when the next batch is selected.
Phoenix Mercury general manager Ann Meyers Drysdale made it though.

Bill Russell only JUST made it into the FIBA Hall of Fame… and Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson were beat out by Phoenix Mercury GM Ann Meyers Drysdale.

Moving on… Doc Rivers is reaching out to coaches with big time players to ask how they deal with multiple stars.
“I talk to a lot of coaches,” Rivers said. “Not just in basketball, but all the sports. You’re always seeking and getting great advice. There are so many great networks to reach out, tap, and find resources, so I do that. And I do that a lot.
“When you have an opportunity like this, you don’t want to leave any stone unturned. You’ve got to look everywhere.”
He’s never had this much talent on his team… I suppose its smart to ask. The good thing is… he’s got Kevin Garnett on his side… and KG is perfectly happy teaching chemistry to there rest of the team. They’ll need that for their trip to Europe. I know it’s preseason… but you’re also making an impression on fans out there. I mean… that’s a huge (relatively) untapped market for Red’s Army. We’ve got shirts to sell, dammit!
I competely looked past this a couple of days ago… Kendrick Perkins is a dad.
The FIBA HOF probably isnt that old, considering basketball only took of in Europe 20 years or so ago. As for the guys that didnt make it, from what I understand the HOF takes international play as it’s main criteria.
We will forgive your transgression with reagards to Perk’s celebration of fatherhood. However, you are required to send a gift or bring a plate of food to the Perkins residence.
Sure… I assume a side of beef is appropriate. He can hit it a lot, then eat it. Raw, probably.
I can just picture Perk waking up at 3 am to feed his little one. Changing diapers…and all those fun things us fathers get to experience. Yeah, right!
