The Celtics news is running thin… and we’ve still got time before we start writing season previews… so I’m talking about my other favorite basketball topic.
Greece made the Eurobasket Semifinals after storming back from 16 points down midway through the 4th quarter… to beat Slovenia 63-62. You should watch the YouTube clip of the Greek call for 3 reasons: (1) The color guy sounding like a wounded porpoise at the :32 mark. (2) The color guy channeling Tommy Heinsohn and calling for a foul at the :44 mark (who knew the Greek word for foul was…”foul”) and (3) the ring around the posey celebration at the end (around 1:33).

Once upon a time, it was a potential career ender… now guys are coming back after a couple of them and pitching better than ever. Don’t be surprised if basketball players and microfracture surgery follow the same path.)
