I’m sick of both of these jerks. They both have talent. They both could possibly stand out in a world of same-ness. Yet they both choose to be insecure brats who just won’t shut the hell up and do what they do best.
So what do we get? Kanye West is just another popular, top 40 rapper bent on being widely accepted and winning BS awards… instead of a trancendant rap icon who lets his music talk for itself. And Gilbert Arenas is just another NBA star who runs his yap and hogs the spotlight… instead of being the trancendant superstar who makes everyone better. Now, if anybody remembers back when I got drafted, I got a report back that the reason I dropped so far in the draft was that Jim O’Brien of the Celtics said that I was too immature and that I wasn’t ready for the NBA. What really happened was that I had an Achilles injury and I went back to L.A. to go get it healed when I was supposed to have a two-day workout in Boston with O’Brien. He didn’t like that. So word came back to me that he was trashing me and it put this knife through my chest about the Boston Celtics.
Back in the day when I would day dream I thought that if I could score 100 points against any team it would be the Boston Celtics. Now, I knew it would never happen, but if I could do one thing in the NBA it would be to score 100 against Boston. So anyway, since everybody is back on the Boston bandwagon it brought back old memories. So listen here. On November 2nd, we’re going to go into that building, we’re opening up Boston. Right now I’m telling the Boston fans: You guys are going to lose. It’s not going to be a victory for Boston. You might as well just cheer for me, because Boston isn’t winning in Boston for the season opener. I’m sorry.
If you didn’t count… that’s 18 “me” or “I” references… as opposed to 2 “we” references. THAT is what Gilbert Arenas is all about. And you know what that means for Washington fans? You’ll never win a championship. And even though you guys have enough talent to be a #2 seed… you’ll probably be no better than a 5 or 6… and it’s because Gilbert is a selfish ass.
In other moron-related news… It looks like Isaiah Thomas is going to be found guilty of sexual harrassment. Could we be entering a new age of comeuppance?

I used to like Gilbert. Now I hope that the C’s send in Pollard at the beginning of the game to deliberately break his leg. I cannot wait for opening night, we will be the first to show Washington that there are no longer a playoff team, and that Gilbert Arenas is far from a top 30 player in the league. Antawn Jamison is the best basketball player on that team. And that’s saying something, because Caron Butler is a pretty darned good player.
Any chance we could print some of those Kobe shirts but but Gilberts mouth in the middle instead of Kobe? I’d certainly wear that opening night.
wow dude calm down. I am a celtics fan but my goodness don’t get your panties all in a bunch. Gilbert Arenas is one of the most exciting, funny and entertaining players in the NBA today. He make bets with fans, promises 50 point games and does giveaways for his fans unlike any other player I’ve seen. He is downright hilarious too. Did you see his blog post about shark attacks? That had me laughing for like 20 minutes. So lighten up and enjoy the NBA, after all it is entertainment.

Just because he’s outgoing doesn’t mean I have to like him. It’s the fact that he promises 50 point games that makes me dislike him. Basketball is a team game… and I derive enjoyment by watching it played well. And I’m willing to bet his teammates are starting to get a little sick of all his “me me me” promises.
Yeah.. it’s great that he does charity work. Maybe deep down he’s a nice guy trapped in an insecure body… but I just think he approaches things to individually… and I find he constant talking a bit annoying.
You can enjoy him though… feel free. I prefer to enjoy guys who understand there are a dozen other guys around wearing the same uniforms

It will take time for the system to mature and this group of talented players to bond as a team. There is no disputing the talent aspect. If the ball is shared then they will win. They will be a much better team and only improve from Christmas on (as long as they stay healthy).
