It’s just one game, but if learned anything from the Celtics preseason win over the Raptors Saturday, it’s that Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce can play together. And for all those doubters who kept posing the question, “Will there be enough basketballs for this team?”, I give you this stat. Garnett – 16 field goals, Pierce – 13 field goals, Allen – 13 field goals. I guess we solved that problem. As Steve Bulpett points out, Garnett’s presence alone opened up the court for others.
“It was interesting because they wanted to double Kevin down on the post, and I had a lot of open shots – shots that I haven’t had open in a long time,” said Allen, who was off the mark a bit, shooting 4-for-13. “Paul kept his man occupied, so it was definitely a different look. You can tell that they had to respect each one of us on each play.”
Apparently some Raptors fans, especially those who visit this site, are upset with all attention given the C’s this off-season. You should be happy, because Sam Mitchell can play the “no respect” card this year as motivation. But Toronto GM Bryan Colangelo is impressed.
“We were talking the other day about who’s improved the most, and on paper it’s not even close,” said Colangelo, the reigning NBA executive of the year. “Boston’s improved the most of any team in the league, and every team kind of stood up and took notice.

And finally, it looks like John made it to Italy after all:

I think it was a good game for both teams. The Raptors established early that they were picking up where they left off last year with the tempo/ballmovement and despite what has been written I actually liked what I saw from Andrea, although I do agree that foul trouble may be a problem this season. As far as that other team goes, they made a point early to share the ball and the ball movement was fluid like a team that has played together for years. Besides that.. GO RAPTORS GO!!
Where the heck are all these Raptor fans coming from?
It’s probably because of the weak dollar… those Canadians are everywhere now
