WTF???, Part II

The Celtics beat the Raptors 98-95 on a Ray Allen 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds left in OT. Or did they? Comcast lost their video feed in the final seconds of overtime. Are you freakin’ kidding me? I pay $150 a month for cable and this is what I get? I realize most of the world is watching the Patriots/Colts but I am royally pissed. Okay…deep breaths. Back to the game. Before Ray drilled that game-winning shot (which you can watch here, courtesy of NBA.com), I was paying homage to KG who absolutely abused Chris Bosh for 10 points in OT.

Here are the stars of the game: Ray Allen 33 pts, 7-11 3 FG  | Kevin Garnett 23 pts, 13 reb, 6 asst | T.J. Ford 32 pts, 5 asst

While I want to celebrate the fantastic finish to this game, the fact is, the Celtics never should have been in that position. They controlled this game for 3 quarters until Toronto outscored them 23-12 in the fourth to force OT (A terrible final play by Paul Pierce didn’t help the cause, see previous post). But the bottom line is, the Celtics beat a very good team on the road.

Give credit to T.J. Ford who backed up his semi-brash words with a helluva game. Ford’s 3-pter with four seconds left tied the game, and set the stage for Ray Allen’s heroics.

I gotta run….this Patriots-Colts game is going down to the wire.

  1. AHHHH we need an emergency call-in show

  2. What’s even more aggrivating is we are 10 minutes into the postgame show and still havent seen that shot. WTF is going on. They cant borrow Toronto’s feed and show us that one? What the hell are they doing? You can get Yankees highlights immediatley after they happen during a Red Sox game, but Comcast cant come up with the video of the shot for 10 minutes?

  3. Lame. Bring back FSN. Everyone should get free cable for a month.

  4. Let’s see one of those “this network is so much better now that it’s Comcast” ads now.

  5. Wow, I’m so glad I was listening to this on the radio. I do not react calmly to things like that. One time when BC was about to pull off an upset (this was back in the mid 90’s, aka the Dwayne Pena era) when the TV lost signal in the final seconds and I took a small baseball and shattered a window before proceeding to run away into the woods.

  6. I must say, I’ve never been a huge fan of FSN’s Celtics work, but since Comcast took the helm, it’s been pretty damn uninspired. I was expecting big things. Better things. Hell, today I’ll settle for marginally better and the ability to keep the friggin’ lights on until the horn sounds. Face it, you could put two chimpanzees and a NESN exec in that control room and we’re all still going to tune in. So at least do the bare minimum, will ya? And what happened to all the good commercials? I haven’t seen a funny, memorable or even remotely interesting Tanger and Dickerson promo in like a year. Is this what The Power of Comcast is getting us? Incompetance and no fun? Comcastic, fellas. I look forward to my higher bill.
