No Worries

I’ll say it. I was never worried that the Celtics would lose this game. Despite playing an ugly 1st quarter, they still led by 2 points. Thanks to the Paul Pierce show in the 2nd quarter (17 of his 31 pts), the C’s built a 9 point half-time lead.  Ray Allen, who was held scoreless in the first half, erupted for 15 points in the 3rd quarter, as the lead grew to 11. Indy made a bit of a run in the fourth, but I never broke a sweat. Why you ask? Because this team plays DEFENSE. The Celts had 12 steals, 8 blocks and forced 22 turnovers. That’s how you win games when your stars are having off-nights. Celtics win 101-86.

Another reason to love the Truth:

Jamal Tinsley fouled Pierce hard on a drive to the basket with the game tied at 38 late in the second quarter. Pierce quickly turned toward Tinsley, but kept his cool.

Suddenly awakened, Pierce even did push-ups between free throws to taunt the crowd. Moments later, after Pierce went baseline for a thunderous dunk, a Celtics player on the bench shouted, ”Oops, you got him mad! Uh-oh!”

Pierce scored 13 points in the final 3:06 of the first half to give the Celtics a 52-43 lead.

Yup. He’s got the eye of the tiger.

On the injury front, Eddie House did leave the game in the 4th quarter after twisting his ankle. No word yet on his status.

  1. House turned his ankle.. and he was moving around under his own power….

Vince Carter turned his ankle… and he practically needed a cart to take him off the court.

Man… I really hate Vince Carter

  2. Now I love Tony, but did anyone else see that grin on TA’s face when House was hobbling off the court?

Who knows who will recieve some extra pt at pg tomorrow night (assuming they rest House), but Tony sure thinks it will be him.

  3. and not only did house manage to walk off the court, he managed to get back on defense and foul someone first.

i can’t decide if i like house or posey more as the sixth man. its all too good.

  4. I think the House/Posey substitutions will depend on matchups and situations

  5. Absolutely. They are completely different players. How can you not love Posey? The guy is fresh off a back injury and he’s in the paint trying to take charges.

  6. Speaking of Subs.. Where is Powe!! I love that guy! He needs atleast a few minutes a game.
