He’s clearly the number 3 of this Big 3 (KG-1, PP-2). But after last night’s dagger in Charolotte, Ray Allen now has two game-winning 3-point shots this year (see 11/4, vs Toronto). From what I hear and read (no I didn’t get to see the game, damn family commitments), the Celtics stunk up the joint. But that is the beauty of this team. They’re good enough to overcome nights where the energy and defense are no where to be found. And we all know how much confidence Pierce, Garnett and Ray have in each other, no matter how poorly each may be playing.
“He made it when it counted, and that’s all that matters,” said Kevin Garnett. “Killer Ray, as we call him. Killer Ray.”
“My thought process is, he’s wide open,” said Pierce. “He’s Ray Allen. He’s one of the best 3-point shooters in NBA history. There you go.”
This team is good. Damn good. I hope you all are enjoying the ride because this is going to be a special season. Okay, my Hallmark moment is over. Let’s take a look at the week ahead. At Cleveland on Tuesday, the ridiculous Knicks visit on Thursday, at Miami on Friday, and the Cavs at the Garden next Sunday. Chalk up four more wins.

The Celtics have clearly achieved “great team” status…. because this is a game that most teams lose. Great teams come up with plays like the House-tip to Pierce-over to Ray for 3.
You can debate where among the great teams the Celtics stand… but I think they need to be considered in the same stratosphere as the Phoenix, Spurs, Dallas teams.
“The Celtics have clearly achieved ‘great team’ status”
- I wouldn’t go that far quite yet. The Celtics have some great players that are playing well, but let’s not forget that we are yet to play any of the teams with the 8 best records from last season. Let’s wait until we play Dalls, Phoenix, San Antonio and those teams before we judge what we’ve got. To be the best, you’ve got to beat the best.
Yeah… I hear what you’re saying… but 11-1 doesn’t happen by accident. No.. they haven’t played and of those big guys yet… but is there any doubt that they’re going to be right there? I don’t doubt it at all.
I think all Tim wants out of us and the Cs is a little humility at this point, which I support him on. We thought we had a pretty good shot at Orlando and who didn’t think the Charlotte game was in the bag? But look what happened. The Cavs game in Cleveland could be tough. But hopefully they stay grounded and come out 4-0 in that span.
Hey… after all we’ve been through.. I’m sick of humility. I want to bask in some glory here…. bask I tell you!
