Our buddies over at BarstoolSports.com were doing a casting call for hot chicks… and a Celtics dancer was there. She was interested… they exchanged numbers… yadda yadda yadda… her boyfriend is a totally insecure douchebag:

Oh… and speaking of insecure douchebags… Let’s speak on Stephen A. Smith. He thinks bloggers shouldn’t be able to reach a wide audience:
someone with no training should not be allowed to have any kind of format whatsoever to disseminate to the masses to the level which they can. They are not trained. Not experts.
Hey Stephen A… how much training did you get before you got thrown on TV? What’s that? None?
Let me tell you something Stephen A: There are literally MILLIONS of people who were trained in college to become reporters… specifically sports reporters. And they’re NOT sports reporters now… because people like YOU are. And I’ll also tell you this: They’re trained NOT to yell every time they’re on TV. Face it Stephen A., you’re a television failure, and now you need print media to fall back on. Except… its dying… and it doesn’t pay quite like TV does. So now you’re pissed that people like us come along and have a little following… further hampering your new lifestyle. Well screw you, hypocrite.

As for Stephen A., I understand this point. There are a ton of people out there, with internet savvy, spreading information, sometimes knowingly false, and its damaging to the industry. These bloggers are now getting lumped into the media, which is wrong. Now John and I are different, we are trained journalists (no joke) and know exactly what we are doing. So stick with us…
I can see why people would think you’re joking… but it is true… we did go to school for this and everything.
What gets me is that he’s bitching about people being trained.. but he goes on TV without a lick of “training”. That’s bull.
We both know a bunch of people in the TV industry. Do they come across as “trained professionals?” The answer is no.
But I get your point. It’s a matter of taking people’s jobs/opportunities. There’s a large population of TV people who have paid their dues (by working in several small markets in small towns) only to have these print people swoop in and take jobs.
Quite Frankly Stephen A. Smith has to shut the hell up.
Alot of the old sports media are petrified of the blogging phenomenon, it allows people to do basically exactly what they do, with out dropping over 100k on a degree, and proving that it can be done just as good by some “untrained” fool as someone with “training” is what scares them the most.
