I know everyone in the Boston area is busy buying milk and bread because of all the snow… so please let that be the end of your panicking.
We started out blazing hot. Scorching. It was almost too good to be true. And just like everything else that seems that way… it was. KG’s infectious intensity could only last so long before the rigors of an 82 game schedule won out. It’s not that they’re not intense anymore. It’s just that you get worn down. Road trips, back-to-backs, everyone geared up and gunning for you… it all adds up.
And before I hear all the “that’s their job… they get paid a lot to be intense all the time”… I’ll just point you to your own job (or school). You’ve got obligations to do 100% there, too. But do you? Are you giving 100% of everything you’ve got at all times? If you’re like most Americans, you take time out of every day to do things like read Red’s Army… or ESPN… or IM someone for 10 minutes. And sometimes you go to work, and you mail it in. It’s OK… it’s human nature.
So that means we’ll lose games. Maybe we’ll lose a couple in a row. Maybe we’ll be like the Pistons last night and get blown out by one of the worst teams in the league. And maybe all this winning so far has me overconfident about us being able to get back into the groove later on. But I can’t say that I’m shocked by a little bit of a fall-off… and I can’t say that I’m all that upset about it. And if the Celtics come out tonight and blow out the Wizards as revenge for Saturday’s loss… I’ll be able to keep this attitude for a while longer.

And I wonder if this is true: Paul Pierce… Straight Cash Homey part 2.
The Boston Celtics star – in town to play the New Jersey Nets – refused to put down a credit card to reserve a table at Meatpacking District hub Tenjune last Thursday night. Club sources told Page Six that Pierce also refused to sign a contract for the table and insisted on paying $2,000 cash instead. As Pierce negotiated with the adamant crew, an earwitness heard him say in exasperation, “Do you know who I am, and how much money I make?” Then he stormed away to find a more accommodating establishment.

I swear I’ve seen that picture before somewhere.
And that Pierce story is pretty funny.
The duplicate photo was John’s way of “mailing” it in.
And I love that Pierce story. But why is he so reluctant to put down a credit card. Maybe he doesn’t want receipts of a night out with the mistress.
Or he’s had a bad experience with someone stealing his information.
Any truth to what that guy posted yesterday about Paul and some baby mama drama?
And on a similar note, did you guys see the story a couple weeks ago about Tony Allen giving absolutely horrible tips?
It’s coming from the NY Post, so it’s gotta be true, not that a New York “newspaper” would have any motive to slander a Boston athlete.
Someone needs to do some investigation into the rumor that Pierce is getting married and has a baby on the way.
He might be full of shit… but a guy who comments on Barstool says TA is a terrible tipper. It’s the only time I’ve heard of it.
There’s only one reason to not put down a credit card (or sign that contract thing… whatever that is): no receipts. He wanted no record of where he was that night…. for whatever reason.
We should just change the name of this site to
