Well… F You Too

sam cassellI’d like to say that this is the last time I’ll write about Sam Cassell until something meaningful happens.  I really would because I’m sick of looking at him.

Sam is hiding behind the “I was misquoted” curtain to explain his outward desire to play for the C’s.  Here’s his quote in yesterday’s Globe:

“I think I’d be a nice addition,” Cassell said. “It would be fun, but I don’t even know [if I can become a free agent]. I’m playing for the Clippers now.”

That seems pretty clear to me.  I don’t know how “I think I’d be a nice addition” gets misquoted… or taken out of context… but that’s what he’s saying:

They misquoted me drastically,” Cassell said of the report. “It’s just not right for my teammates to hear I’d be a perfect fit in Boston.”

sam? What kind of addition were you talking about Sam? Mayor Menino’s ‘Voice and Articulation’ class?  Of course you were talking about the Celtics.  But now you realize that you screwed up by talking to a reporter about it… and you have to lie to cover your ass.  Sorry Sammy… that’s strike 2 in my book.  You got abused by Rondo and you retaliated by taking a shot at his head…. and now you’re pretending you didn’t say what you said.

This story either needs to go away now… or this whole buyout thing needs to happen now so I can put this as far in the past as I can.  As of right now… the thought of having to cheer for this guy as we roll through the playoffs is bringing up some bile.

Of course… Chuck went on Barstool yesterday… and said he doesn’t care if Sam’s a douchebag… sign him up.

  1. It isnt impossible that he was misquoted. Cassell said the reporter asked him if he would be a nice edition, and he said he probably would be. The reporter put in the paper as Cassell, unsolicited, saying ” I would be a good edition to this team.” All he was doing was answering a question. Alot of athletes hide behind the misquoted thing, but they do because they get misquoted or have their words twisted constantly.

  2. Los Angeles Clippers guard Sam Cassell has been suspended one game without pay for committing a Flagrant Foul Penalty Two by swinging and making contact with the head of Boston’s Rajon Rondo, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President Basketball Operations.

The incident occurred with 2:54 remaining in the second quarter of the Clippers 111-100 loss to the Celtics on Wednesday night at TD Banknorth Garden. Cassell will serve his suspension tonight when the Clippers visit the Toronto Raptors at Air Canada Centre.
