On the Bright Side….

I went to bed last night with a venomous taste in my mouth. I couldn’t wait to wake up and rip the Celtics for their truly pathetic performance against Phoenix. The team was supposed to make a statement with this road trip. They were going to shut up all the doubters, the Stephen A. Smiths of the NBA. But no. Instead the C’s look like pretenders. With that said, I’m ready to move on. Let’s just get to the playoffs and roll the dice. Doc’s quote on the team’s morale also helped…

“Not bad,” he said. “We lost . . . no one wants to lose, but we’ll be fine.”

According to various media reports, the Celtics are interested in a slew of players. Brent Barry definitely intrigues me, more so than Flip Murray and Jamal Magliore. Although I am running out of patience with Kendrick Perkins. And there’s alway Sam Cassell. Here’s Danny’s take:

“We’ll just evaluate who comes off waivers and see where they fit in with us,” Ainge said. “But I don’t feel we have to do anything. I like our team. At the same time, we’ve saved two roster spots for players that could help us this time of the year. We’ll continue to evaluate those players.”

In other words, he doesn’t know yet. If it was up to me, I’d acquire Cassell and Magliore. On a side note, you can tell the Red Sox are back in business. The Herald and Globe have quickly pushed the Celtics to the back-burner to make room for all those hard-hitting stories from spring training.
