What a game… and what a great night to be at the Garden.
Chuck and I spent 2 and a half hours in a great atmosphere… enjoying Kevin Garnett scoring at will… Kendrick Perkins rebounding like a maniac… Rajon Rondo’s dunk on Maxiell… and a 90-78 win.
Before the game, the Celtics got the crowd hyped by putting up a nice long piece on the Celtics-Pistons rivalry… including “there’s a steal by Bird’ and Parish knocking the crap out of Bill Laimbeer. Then the C’s came out on a huge run that kept the vibe going.
But somehow (cough cough *the refs* cough cough) the Pistons were able to hang around and get it close until the Celtics closed it out on a 12-1 run.
Big night for KG… who scored 31 to lead 4 Celtics in double digits (none of then named Ray Allen). Kendrick Perkins had one hell of a double double: 10 points, 20 rebounds. Funny thing… as soon as I called Perk out for forgetting how to board… he’s been chomping glass. Could it be that Perk is a Red’s Army reader and he’s trying to prove me wrong? I’ll just assume he is.
A couple post ago I wrote that perk needs to stop with the attitude and start rebounding and blocking shots, since that post he has been a monster!!! Keep up the great work perk this is the way CELTIC nation needs you to play!!
So it’s you Reds Army guys that got Perk to channel his inner Rodman!!! I was wondering why, after mailing in a bunch of games he’s become an absolute animal on the boards and swatting shots. If he can continue to play this way, especially into the money season, no one is going to stop us from sweet 17!
