“Boston Should Be More Afraid of Cleveland”

The Celtics are playing the Bulls tonight in a matchyaaaaaaaaawwwwwn….

Who cares?  What.. you want me to break down the Bulls?  What do you want me to say?  “This guy sucks… that guys sucks… this guy sucks even more?”

Whatever.

Here… I’ll write tomorrow’s recap right now:

“The Boston Police Department’s ‘Special Victims Unit’ is investigating what appears to the brutal sodomy of the Chicago Bulls.  Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen are all being held as suspects.”

If you don’t mind… I’d like to spend this morning focusing on an actual playoff team.  ESPN sat its writers down to have them break down the East.

The quote in the headline comes from J.A. Adande.  This one comes from Marc Stein:

I’m quite sure Boston is rooting hard for Cleveland to pass Orlando in the East standings, wanting no part of trying to contain LeBron in Round 2 having already struggled to do so in the teams’ regular-season encounters.   It’s hard to picture the Cavs beating both of those teams to get to the Finals, but you can be sure that whoever gets Cleveland in the second round will be bummed about it.

Will we?  Would you rather play Orlando or Cleveland?  I guess I’d rather play Orlando… but they’ve given us problems.  Bottom  line, though… you don’t want to have to worry about LeBron going nuts on you.  I still don’t like the way their trade messed with so much of their team.  I wonder if Cleveland is going to get it together come playoff time.

  1. Sorry…but I’m not afraid of the Cavs like the rest of the league. I believe LeBron is the best player in the game…but the rest of the team is not that good. Why are they only 9-10 games over .500? Just because Detroit collapsed last year (and that’s what happened, as much as the media wants to say James won it) doesn’t mean the Celtics will do the same this year. We are the hungry and more focused team….

  2. John…I told you never to use that photo of me from the Red’s Army Halloween party on the site!

  3. I thought you meant the one of you in the assless chaps.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh…. that was AFTER the party. Sorry

  4. John, so Ben Wallace is really dominating in Cleveland huh? Oh wait, you just said that you didn’t even like the trade…. so I’m going to take that as finally admitting you were wrong about Gasol/Wallace.

And Chuck I agree with most of what you said, but Lebron DID win the East last year. The Pistons didn’t do much to help their cause, but Lebron’s play in that series was absolutely unbelievable. I remember the last 5 or so years of Jordan’s career with the Bulls, and Lebron’s performance in that series was frankly better than anything I’ve seen Jordan accomplish. That said, C’s in 6.

  5. In one single series that is… obviously Lebron has much more to prove and 6 more rings to grab before the two can be put on the same level.

  6. Maybe the Wallace thing was off base…. but it doesn’t change my overall point…. and I STILL don’t like the Gasol trade.

I still don’t think it makes the Lakers the favorites. The Spurs have been lying in wait… and now they’re red hot. And there’s no damn way the Lakers will beat the Spurs with Gasol defending Duncan. And if you think Bynum is going to do it… 4 months after a major knee injury… well… good luck with that.

So the Lakers need a defensive big man. Maybe Wallace isn’t the guy…. but it sure ain’t Gasol

  7. Hummmmm lets see, the cavs have what like 2 players that actually play and the rest just feed Lebron. The Celts have like 10, with the bench solidified, the cavs maybe win 1 game in a series against the celtics. Great trade for Wallace he was a good player in a good system in Detroit what has he done since, KG will drop 30 or more on him everytime. The west will kick the crap out of each other, then the C’s come in and snatch number 17 in june. Keep up the great work boys.

  8. I like the way Shawn thinks.
