Liar

One day ago, we published this quote from Doc Rivers:

“We are just going to play our guys,” Rivers said. “Clearly, you want to cut down minutes. But I’m not a big believer, the same like the Patriots. You don’t change what you’re doing.

Then explain to me Doc, why not a single starter played more than 33 minutes in tonight’s disgusting 95-90 loss to the Sixers. Rivers stuck with his entire second unit until there were 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter. And even then, Rivers added his starters one at a time over the next few minutes. Not to mention, they all played like crap. Maybe because they were frozen solid from their stint on the bench. It’s OK to experiment with combinations but make sure you win the damn game. At the very least, you shouldn’t lie to us.

  1. Awesomely fast post, Chuck. Good call on the fib, too. But really, there are no guarantees on wins when you’re screwing with the line up. I love watching the way the guys all play together in different combos but when things start to suck you need to bring it back. Ugh, this was hard to watch.

  2. Chuck, my man.

  3. I obviously don’t have a problem with experimenting with the lineup at this point. I’m even ok with Doc not being truthful about it. But gets me is the lack of effort at the end. Its like Leon Powe is the only guy who gives maximum effort every minute he’s on the floor.

  4. Ha, post-game, Doc just said basically what you said. Without the lying part. Looks like he’s going to keep pushing the bench and then beat them down if they don’t keep the score in line.

  5. More proof that the guys at Red’s Army are secretly running the Celtics. “Chuck” is realy Tom Thibodeau. I’m really Clifford Ray.

    Ok…

I’m not Clifford Ray. I just want to be.

    He’s a bad motherfucker

  6. Hahahahaha piss off one game plz doc is making right moves saving the starters for da finals only 2 lose in 6 to the Los Angeles Lakers
