I’ve found the reason to watch tonight’s game against the Bobcats. A Celtics win (or Detroit loss) locks up home court advantage throughout the playoffs. Too bad the C’s won’t celebrate Red Sox style and pop the corks in the lockeroom. According to the Globe’s Julian Benbow, Pierce WILL miss tonight’s game against Charlotte.
Check out the standings in the East, 7 spots are now claimed with Atlanta on the verge of grabbing the 8th. Because Philly, Washington and Toronto are bunched so closely, the seedings might not be decided until the last day of the regular season.
SI.com has an interesting piece on team payrolls. Ian Thomsen says even though Kevin Garnett is the league’s highest paid player at $23.8 million, the Celtics are one of the most financially efficient teams.
