Sometimes We Can Be Idiots

The blogosphere is all aflutter over the new Kobe Bryant ad.  Score one for Nike… because we’re all talking about it and spreading the word for them for free… even though they sell close to $20 billion worth of sneakers per year.

The ad features Kobe Bryant jumping over an Aston Martin.  The big question asked on blogs all over the place is… ‘is the ad real?’  Here… you look at it yourself.

So here’s the answer to the question:

Of course its not real.  Anyone who honestly thinks that anyone involved (Nike, Kobe, the Lakers) would put Kobe Bryant in front of a speeding car to sell shoes is an idiot.  Brilliant piece of marketing Nike.

There… I’ve done your bidding… now can I get a free pair of shoes?  I’m a size 14… and I’m a Celtics fan.  You send me those Purple and Gold Lakers Shoes and I’m becoming an Addidas guy.

Oh.. right… Celtics.  Kevin Garnett is getting the Red Auerbach award as we speak.  Oh… and remember…. vote for us… and make us some blog of the year or something.  If not… we’ll send this guy to your house.

  1. Look at his shadow… When he jumps over the car you can see his shadow on the car. So he doesn’t really jump over the car he jumps next to it!
