Sam Cassell has been talking like he’s coming back for another year with the Celtics. But out of nowhere comes another option: Tyronn Lue… who lists the Celtics, Suns and Mavericks as his favorite teams… although he seems to be leaning towards Phoenix:
“I feel really good about the Suns,” Lue said. “I want to go to a winning team and a good organization. They have both those things. I’d love to play with Nash and with Shaq (O’Neal) again. Hopefully we can work something out.”
To the best of my knowledge, the Celtics could sign him to the veteran minimum (just over $1 mil for him) without dipping into the MLE.
We’ll need a back up point guard… and Lue fits the bill. And he won’t come out gunning like mad like other back up points we might employ.

No way. He does nothing with the ball. Lindsey Hunter is a much better option if we’re not bringing Sam back. Not to mention the guy I’ve heard nothing about Anthony Carter, who is my first choice.

LOL, ET??? I like the idea of Carter but i really think we shold give the rookie (gabe) a chance. Let Rondo and Gabe take a shot till the all stare break, if things are not working then at that point look for a vet to come in and get you over the hump.
Anthony Carter stinks Lue is a great point guard just look what he did to Allen Iverson in the finals in 01. Lue already has a ring and can bring experience to the Celtics.
