Hoopsworld is reporting the Mongoose will resign with the Celtics. Here’s everything they have:
James Posey is expected to announce that he’ll re-sign with the Boston Celtics in the next 24 hours .
I haven’t seen this report anywhere else. At the same time the Hoopsworld report hit the web, Marc Spears reported there was “nothing new.” Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

I still think the Celts could take a flyer on Livingston. Huge risk, but he doesn’t need to be explosive on this team, just consistent. And his length at PG combined with the Thibodeau philosophy, he could be a solid defender.

Livingston would be brilliant. He could also spell T Allen at the point though. Hopefully he heals up well AND gets confidence back to play in this league….

Bartelstein is still playing hardball because demand for Posey isn’t nearly as high as they hoped it would be. Sure – teams are interested. Even some contenders. But NOBODY is full MLE at 4-5 years interested. Nobody. If they were, he would have signed with somebody already.
I love the guy and hope he resigns here. I have a feeling he will, mostly because his agent tried too hard to play up his worth, and the GMs for teams he’d be willing to go to (contenders) know better. they wouldn’t be contenders if they let somebody fleece them on too much money and too many years for a guy like Posey.
