You think Vin Baker would have hit bottom by now… but apparently not. 6 months ago, he pleaded guilty to reckless driving (a plea down from drunk driving). Now, he’s lost his home.
The property, which features a two-lane bowling alley, basketball court, guest house and pool, was bought June 28 by U.S. Bank for $2.5 million….
In February, TD Banknorth sought to foreclose on Baker’s Old Saybrook restaurant, Vinnie’s Saybrook Fish House, which opened in 2005. The bank held a nearly $1 million mortgage on the property and said the restaurant’s owner had defaulted on it, according to a lawsuit filed in Superior Court in Middletown.
The restaurant closed in January and reopened last week, according to a spokesman for Baker, who would not give details about the restaurant foreclosure action but said Baker is still an owner with “a silent partner.”
The sad, sad, story of Vin Baker continues. I wonder if anyone ever truly tried to help that guy… or if everyone just sucked him dry and have abandoned him now that he’s essentially lost everything.

FYI, nothing new on Posey. Still waiting… and of course… there are conflicting reports about how imminent any signing might be… and whether its with the Celtics or not.

I know how Vin can make some money…he can write a book on how to blow $90 million.

I am a sympathetic man, but not for a guy like Vinny Baker. He’s had plenty of chances, but can’t muster the testicular fortitude to right his ship. Sorry, Vin. You’ve expended your reservoir of goodwill. He not busy being born is busy dying.
I bet he still has more money than most of us.
god i feel so bad for him and anyone else that have alcohol/drug issues. I remember hearing about him when he was in college and how amazing of an NBA player he was going to be and he was doing fine for a while. too bad the biggest memory i have of him is when the celtics traded for him and i blacked out. ill never forget that trade… its probably in the top 3 of all time awful boston trades.
I remember Vinny from the University of Hartford. I ran cross country and I went to student-athlete study hall with Vinny my freshman year and talked to him occassionally on campus but was not a close friend with him. I still have the sports illustrated where he was featured as “The best kept secret in NCAA basketball” and I even got my head in the picture with some other student athletes.
He was always a great guy and was friends with everyone. I couldn’t believe it when he was picked #6 in the NBA draft that year. Not because of his playing ability…but he just seemed like a regular guy and was never cocky or acted like he was better than anyone else.
It just shows you that money doesn’t solve problems. There are millions of people that have the same problems that Vinny has had to deal with, but their lives are not shown to the whole world to see so people can make jokes about it and criticize him for it. If you are the person who does that, and your life is in such perfect working order…be very glad that it isn’t happening to you and pray to God it never happens to you or someone you care about. I hope Vinny is ok and is getting the help he needs.
vinny is doing fine just to let all the haters no. Broke people alway’s have something negative to say.I just can’t see how another man can just sit and take time to talk bad bought another man, that’s gay come on get real.At least he can say wow i did it. That should be enough to encourage you to get off your candy ass,put down the cup cake sugar cookies and get a life. YO vinn see u in the gym L.A. westhaven all day.
