Almost all of the Celtics post-season plan hinges on James Posey. Now we’re hearing that there could be “something” contract-wise today. One of our spies (note: Holy crap… we’ve got spies!!) spotted The Mongoose at Alonzo Mourning’s charity hoops event last night… and he was rocking a Boston Red Sox hat. That, of course, means nothing… but we’ll blow it out of proportion and say it means he’s fallen in love with the city and he’s coming back. Let’s see.
Also of note at the event… Sam Cassell had himself referred to as “champ” on the PA every time he scored. I assume it happened about 4 or 5 times… but it could have happened about 15.
For you gamers out there… the new version of NBA Live will supposedly include a groundbreaking new feature: The game will download real time NBA statistics and game info… every time you turn it on.
I thought the C’s offered Posey 3 years and he wanted 4…but now it appears they offered 2 and he wants 3. And still no other team is stepping up…I don’t get it.
Why isn’t Pierce on the cover of NBA Live? The cover should be Paul clubbing Kobe over the head with his Finals MVP trophy while dunking on a crying Sasha…and that should be an option in the game too.
I thought the longer it took to sign PoZ the worse our odds were of getting him back. Now it seems like it’s reversed-his agent has shopped him around and may now be working more with the Celtics? I think the “Save the Mongoose” campaign T-shirts at his next event would seal the deal.
Hopefully I’ll be able to get the scoop from Rondo tonight in Watertown at the DVD release.
Still weird that there has been nothing on House or TA.
