Don’t get too giddy, unless your’e giddy about the prospect of winning the Eastern Conference. When it comes to the top prize, the only thing you Celts fans can hope for is another injury to a guy like Bynum, which is the only thing that allowed you a fluke title in ’08.
This season’s a foregone conclusion. Lakers waltz to their first of 3 straight championships. But don’t fret. The big story will be the race for # 2. That’s exciting, right?
Thanks, and I’ll see you after my NINTH championship in a mere 30 years as Lakers owner.

If we make it to the finals again this year I am praying to god we face the lakers, beating them AGAIN and the moronic fans trying to use something else as a scapegoat is almost more enjoyable than being #1…. hows #2 treatin you LA? haha

I’d like Lakers fans to tell me how the team has addressed its horrific defense. If I recall correctly, the only addition is the return of Andrew Bynum… the same guy that got dismantled by Kendrick Perkins last season.
The Celtics are STILL the premier defensive team in the league. And I’ll be happy to repeat this for all Lakers fans to hear: Defense…. Wins…. Championships. We proved that last year. We’ll prove it again this year.

Hmm. Jerry, let’s do some basic math here.
9 championships
17 Championships.
Yeah. Thought so.

Oh jerry, you so crazy. Celtics still the beasts from the east. Unfortunately we probably won’t get to taunt the Lakers in the finals this year. More likely to see Hornets or Blazers from the west. But any way Jerry, here’s hoping the Clippers (and everyone else) kick’s your ass.

redsarmy,
The 7-foot, rebounding, shot-blocking Bynum isn’t our only defensive improvement. There’s rising star Trevor Ariza, who was barely back in action last Finals after an injury – another lucky break for Boston.
Danno,
The 9 championships are under MY ownership alone. The franchise total is 14. After this coming 3-peat, it’ll be 17.
I thought Boston was a town with a high sports IQ. Guess not.
