Wait…What?????

Did the Celtics just drop one against the Clippers?  Its true, the Celtics lost to the Clippers 93-91.  The worst thing is I stayed up past 1 am for another west coast loss.  Celtics struggled at the line shooting 22-32,  and coughed up 20 turnovers.  They were flat and showed the typical “tired” signs of a team at the end of a long road trip.  Rajon Rondo continues to struggle at the line where he shot 50% (4-8) and finishing the night with only 3 assists.  Pierce played through the dislocated thumb suffered in this game, and led the team in scoring with 20 points.   Rondo and Allen followed with 17 points each.  Zach Randolph put up big numbers leading all scorers with 30 points and grabbing 12 boards.  Marcus Camby also posted a double-double with 14 and 11. Mikki Moore performed as expected, playing 11 minutes with 4 points off the bench.  The C’s ended the 6 game road trip with a 4-2 record and were plagued with injuries during the west coast trip.  As previously mentioned, Paul Pierce left this game briefly with a dislocated right thumb.  Pierce did return and as the story goes, he will be re-evaluated in Boston.

  1. No body to blame but our own team, I’m tired of blaming refs and so on but we have to look at the turnovers and missed foul shots. Very frustrating!!!

  2. Fucking 0 – 3 vs. LA Teams – Our game to win and we blew it. Our offense was out of sink we kept going in to PP even with his bad thumb. I don’t get it. Ray Ray didn’t score in the second half???? We are falling behind Cavs and Lakers. We can try to get some home cooking on Friday. Keep your heads up guys.

  3. I had an interesting thought aside from the obvious disadvantage of losing homecourt to the Cavs and Lakers, finishing 2cd in the east might actually be beneficial to the C’s

looking at the standings hte matchups might actually be better for the C’s from the 2 spot, but mainly in the second round

looking at the standings as they are hear is who we would have to play

1st round detroit, we have owned them this year, they are already thinking about booking there vacations, but still they could prove to be tough, BUT i have a hunch they will get it together and at least move up to the 6 spot

2cd round Orlando, now this is the big prize of finishing 2cd for the C’s the avoidance of facing the pesky hawks, instead they get to face up with an orlando team that they match up perfectly with and that will be missing there 2cd best player

  4. Yea, papairish… but if they play ANYTHING like they played in that 4th quarter, it won’t make a difference who we’re facing. We just lost… to the CLIPPERS. Who were 14-43.

Doc should be ashamed of himself for his rotations, the players should be ashamed of their play and especially their RIDICULOUS turnovers, and lest we forget, the refs should be shot at dawn.

  5. don’t complain anymore guys. you have mikki moore and will be getting marbury shortly. if that isn’t enough to get over the lakers and cavs hump, then i don’t know what to tell you guys.

  6. Papa Irish…um…did I just read that you think the 2 seed would be a blessing..potentially playing detroit/orlando/cleveland/LA

Um..thats worse case scenario as far as Im concerned, fuck the hawks bro, they are a worse team then any we’ll have to play…lol@fearing the hawks

  7. as far as the clippers game…that was a fucking disgrace, bottom line..disgusting basketball, like I want to puke…we lost to the fucking goddamn clippers

  8. We’re gonna have bad losses. That’s just gonna happen.

Yes, the effort and the play sucked…. which forced Doc to try to find some guys who could step up.

No big deal. We’re not the first, and we won’t be the last NBA team to drop the last game of a long road trip.

  9. Agreed, redsarmy. What a terrible loss, but that’s all it is: one loss. We were able to pull out a similar game against Dallas on the last night before All-Star Weekend, but we just couldn’t last night.
Like a lot of fans, I’m disappointed that we are no longer feared and viewed as unbeatable, like a lot of our foes thought last year when our record was light-years ahead of everyone else’s. Even though our record is similar to last season, we don’t look as invincible. I think we are transitioning into more of a Spurs-type team and mentality. We are holding guys out as an injury precaution. We seem to be less focused some nights and then super-focused when it counts, or when we want to make a statement. And, like the Spurs, we seem to be taking a long-term approach to the season. The upside is, we probably won’t burn out in the Playoffs. The downside: We may have to prove we can win without homecourt.

  10. Im sorry but if doc was forced to find players to step up why didnt he play giddens or walker.
When the games on the line docs the last coach i want out there.
When its a blow out he’s great he’s great with the players but when it comes to close games I dont think his play calling is very good.

  11. we needed Scallie

  12. Why have we been losing to the sucky teams?! We lost to both LAs

  13. Guys, it happens to every team. There will always be bad losses and for some reason, I always find that the last road game in a long road trip to be the toughest game of all. What can I say? The Celtics was visibly tired so our defense was awful. For Christ’s sake, we allowed them to have more than 40+ points at the paint! That NEVER happens (well until now)! They will be heading back to Boston and resting until the next game.

  14. What happened to Doc playing Gabe and Walker even if they messed up and he didn’t like it? Playing Ray in the 4th quarter of the Denver game and yesterday with Pierce injured and the Clippers hitting his thumb every chance they got. I thought Perice and Baron were boys but after yesterday he needs to think hard about that. Injuring a player and trying to aggravate the injury is dirty some friend
