  1. It’s all perk!!

  2. About the best half they’ve played this year. Still don’t like T Allen, who continues to make stupid mistakes in every game. He belongs on another team… Lakers for example :)

  3. Does it not occur to you that these bunch of nobodies are the same guys who beat your laker team a couple weeks ago…. haha wow

  4. LAKERS1fan – Were you a Bulls fan in the 90’s?

  5. Seriously the Laker fans are the most annoying fans of any sport. Seriously remember this you pricks YOUR beloved LAKERS lost to this bunch of nobodies. You guys are seriously pathetic, shut up and go home you sunny little fruit cakes. By the way good game C’s

  6. Lakers fans look more and more silly everytime they post. I guess they don’t mind looking like the fools they are.

  7. I’m just guessing you’re of the fair weather variety like a lot of those in LA (and don’t tell me otherwise because I lived there for a long time). The 90’s weren’t the best of times for the Lakers and many became MJ fans during that period until Phil came along and then magically the flags went up on the cars.

Any Nick Van Exel jerseys in your collection or just Kobe and Shaq?

  8. Can we find a Laker fan that is either over 13 or not a celebrity?????????

Or maybe one that could spell, or even construct a sentence?

  9. It is true that the Lakers have more talent, added man + man, than the Celtics. I mean, you can’t compare the Celts’ bench to the Lakers man for man. But games are not played by individuals, they are played by teams. And the Celtics are WAY the better team. Which is why, tho I live in LA, I like the Celtics. They are smarter, they work harder, they are more dedicated, and they have more character than the Lakers will ever have. (The Lakers seem to me to be much like their fans — jerks. The only really hard worker is Kobe, tho he too has lacked character.) Which is why the Celts beat LA silly in the Finals, and will probably always win in the end.

  10. “I just relaxed and waited on that magical moment when Shaq, then PJ and finally BIG KOBE came along and yes my laker flag and jersey came out.”

So you bailed on your team when the going got tough? It’s easy to root for a contender but it takes a true fan to keep rooting for a team during the tough times, don’t you think? To each their own I guess. If you’re happy being that kind of fan than that’s your perogative. I prefer to root for my team in good times and in bad.

  11. Ryan, if you are referring to me… I was never a Lakers fan. The Celtics brought back some interest in the NBA which I had lost for years… because of who they are and how they play. I can’t root for a team just because they have a lot of talent… what I find most interesting are teams like the Celtics, who do NOT have the most talent, but win because they work harder and smarter than everybody else. And I especially love their defense… when it’s working, it is a thing of beauty.

  12. DRJ – My comment was directed towards LAKERS1fan who I quoted at the beginning of my post. Please don’t take offense to anything I said as it was not directed at you.

  13. +45? really? haha im lovin it
thats a message from the celts if you ask me

  14. wow rondo had a great game. he deserves to make the all star team………

  15. “Cruisin'” Yeah, you cruised right into a purple and gold avalanche on Xmas day.

A slumping Laker squad handed a PEAKING Celts team defeat. What’s gonna happen when the Lakers heat up? What’s gonna happen when Bynum and Ariza continue to improve and all this crap about ‘defense’ is laid to rest? Here’s what’s gonna happen: THREEPEAT! Celts fans, meet the ’09, ’10 & ’11 NBA Champions: The Los Angeles Lakers.

Be glad you got a cheap title when Bynum & Ariza were hurt. Now watch the winningest franchise in sports history take control.

HOHOHO! MERRY XMAS and a SAD New Year to YOU GUYS!

  16. All’s well Ryan, no offense at all.
It’s amazing to me how there does not appear to be ONE Lakers fan writing on this board who has so much as half a brain actually working. A sadder bunch of inarticulate fools would be hard to find.

  17. Lakers are the one who got a cheap win in December not a playoff win. Titles are never cheap. Some Laker fans are so bitter and foolish it is unbelievable. Can’t wait until Lakers come to the Garden. Last time there they gopt shellacked. Bynum and Ariza are not going to help the Lakers that much.

  18. So, this whole season is going to be Lakers fans commenting on blogs about how, oooooh, the Celtics might have won whatever particular game they just played BUT THEY DIDN’T BEAT THE LAKERS IN DECEMBER! This won’t get old at all.

Oh come on! I hate how you celtics fans deny how much Ariza and (especially) Bynum will spell a difference. Bynum and Ariza were major contributors in the Lakers win last Christmas. The boxscore may not state major contributions but come on, everyone saw it, even you celtics fans did. Ariza’s numerous hustle plays fueled up the team and sucked the life out of the celtics, which greatly shifted the momentum unto the Lakers. Bynum’s presence in the middle altered numerous shots, and not to mention a couple of blocked shots. So please celtics fans, don’t act dumb and just face the facts as they are. The Lakers team that your team beat last june is different from what the Lakers look like now, and Ariza and Bynum are just two of the main reasons why.

  20. Yes it was just a single december game but it was a good gauge to see where these two rivals stand against each other. and as of THAT SINGLE DECEMBER GAME, the Lakers are more superior than the Celtics.

  21. So, the Heat are better than the Lakers?

  22. Whatever Jason, it was also at the Staples center where the Lakers have been obsessing over the Celtics for months.

  23. Jason, I was responding to Kurt Rambis who absolutely deserved the response I gave him. Lakers and there obsessive trolling here is hilarious.

  24. Bynum and Ariza did not improve the Lakers significantly. Again you Laker trolls that are delusional lets see the Laker win one game at the Garden 1st. Celtics will win when it matters–in June. Don’t act like this game proved that much because it did not–it was Dec. game on the road for the Celtics against a team that was talking about the Celtics in the media for at least a month. I guess delusional Laker fans think they won some sort of title in December, hate to break it to ya they did not.

  25. DRJ, TIm, Froggy…

I have been a Laker fan for almost 30 years…I remember Magic as a rookie…Norm Nixon being traded …Kareem shaving his head…the Game 5 Baby Hook…the Back-to-Back titles…Magic’s HIV press conference…the valiant effort Byron Scott and his role players gave Barkley and the Suns…the lean years when Vlade was our best player…then came Eddie Jones, Nick the Quick and things were looking up…Shaq and Kobe came to town and we rebuilt (in 2 years, not 20+) a fast, young team who competed for Western Conference crowns in the 90’s…then we had a Threepeat…then a couple lean years and then right back to the Finals…the Lakers were way ahead of schedule last year…that loss to a much better All-Star-er…um…I mean Celtic team was expected and I have lost no sleep over it…

The Lakers have been the NBA measuring stick for the last 30 years- yes including the Chicago Jordaniare phenom- and we will continue to be…

As for defense DRJ…for you to have lived in LA and not been a Laker fan for the reasons you listed, would put you at age 13 or so…the 80’s Showtime Lakers were always known for Offense, but played some of the best team D in NBA history…ask Bird or McHale about Cooper and Thompson’s relentless approach to every play…or ask DJ if Scott ever took a play off on D…you probably have no idea to what I am referring…

…and I certainly do have half a brain working, but to be honest, participating on this website doesn’t require it…some of my other Laker counterparts choose to type with emotion only and if you’ve ever visited a Laker blog-site you would find many similar examples of Celtic-trolls spewing much of the same fodder…probably some of the same “high-brow” C-fans seen here…

I love basketball…sports in general -and there is nothing like a true rival to make things more interesting in a long, often hum-drum season…

    Go Lakers…Celtics Suck!
    Amen.

  26. Yes it was just a single december game but it was a good gauge to see where these two rivals stand against each other. and as of THAT SINGLE DECEMBER GAME, the Lakers are more superior than the Celtics.
    Jason – December 29, 2008 at 4:41 am

    Yeah – they were superior.

    For one game.

    On their home court.

with the help of the refs.

Last time I checked, the NBA Finals is a 7 game series. But really, it doesn’t surprise me that most Lakers fans can’t handle basic math and get over excited about a single home game before the season is even half over. This is like bragging about your premature ejaculation because a girl “touched you down there….”.

  27. It’s useless arguing with pea-brain celtics fans. FUCK THE CELTICS! Go Lakers! Celtics Suck!

  28. Inferno said: “Shaq and Kobe came to town and we rebuilt (in 2 years, not 20+) a fast, young team who competed for Western Conference crowns in the 90’s…”

Competed for western conference crowns in the 90’s? The Lakers only made the conference finals twice after Magic retired in ’91 and that wasn’t until ’98 and ’99. They were swept both times.

Not sure about your math either. The 2000 championship was the Lakers first since 1988, but congratulations on only taking 12 years rather than 20+.

But hey, since you love sports in general, good luck to the Lakers, Dodgers, Kings and . . . . . . is USC LA’s official football team???

  29. Laker boy said “It’s useless arguing with pea-brain celtics fans. FUCK THE CELTICS! Go Lakers! Celtics Suck!”

Then why do you come on to a Celtics blog?

  30. Laker faqns Celtics fans pea brained. That is hilarious. They need to look in the mirror and realize they are the ones trolling.

  31. Not surprisingly Ryan missed the point…and my math is fine…it took us 2 years to become competitive, I never said win a championship…

Go back to your mom’s basement and your Sports Almanac…how’s Warcraft going?

  32. Nora, your name sounds female. Go to a WNBA blog

  33. It’s painfully obvious that the Celts’ thrashing of the Fakers in the Finals caused some deep psychological trauma to you LA fans. The fact that you feel the need to come on here and validate the Christmas win is pathetic.

  34. I beg to differ about the Lakers being the NBA “measuring stick” for the past 30 years. I would say that the Celtics, Lakers, Bulls, Pistons and even the Spurs have shared their time as marquee franchises. Every team goes through peaks and valleys.
