Scal Out At Least A Week

After taking an elbow to the chin from Dirk Nowitzki… Scal took another shot from Patrick O’Bryant today in practice.  Now he’s out with a concussion.

“He got hit in the head and just had a mild concussion,” Rivers said. “I don’t know if he is out, but it’s close. He’ll be out probably for quite some time.

I’m being told it will be at least a week.  I guess if POB can’t earn his way onto the court, he’s just going to take the people above him on the depth chart out.

  1. Not to be mean, but who gives a shit

  2. Patrick O’Bryant fucking sucks.

He’s like a less mobile, less talented Marc Blount.

    Danny, trade him. Now.

  3. Way to go POB – This is one way to get playing time by knocking out your own teammate – POB will still ride the pine – POWE will get more minutes now.

  4. Well Baron… I’m sure it’s not a huge blow to the Celtics chances. But in case you didn’t notice… Scal has actually played well lately. He hit some big shots and has played pretty good D.

  5. Clearly Baron hasn’t watched a game in a month….even I have been giving Scal credit lately.

    what he said^^^

  7. Paybacks a Bitch… Scal popped Perks shoulder out of place a few years ago. Ever since then he’s had shoulder issues!

  8. I feel the same way about Scal too – Lately he’s been playing with his chest out feeling good about himself and he has every reason to. Doc gave him the minutes and he has delivered on both ends of the court. He is no longer a joke aka fan favorite coming in playing garbage time anymore.

  9. wow people, scal is not the reason for the winning, period…the guy is finally doing what hes getting paid to do, plain and simple…this celtics team is not going to fall apart without him, please. I realize hes been playing well latelty (for him) but do you really think its a big blow ? give me a gdamn break

  10. So, who thinks this team is actually worse without scalabrine? I think their exactly the same with or without him, period..
I mean, i honestly cant think of a player on the celtics who we could lose and it to mean less than scal-a-freakin-brine (besides POB, maybe Gabe)

  11. Scal has been playing better but you could bring Vin and Tonic back he’d look like a good player on this team. They have been playing that well.

    The Notorious POB.

    Patrick O’Bryant.
    Tony Allen.
    Sam Cassell.

  13. Baron – You are right Celtics won’t fall apart without Scal but he has played an important role since Perk has been out and recovering. He does get paid a lot of F’in $$ to play a small role but it is what it is right. POB is really Garbage we are stuck with him for one more year.

  14. I hope the Celtics won’t disintegrate without Scal. ;) Nah, injuries are never funny.

  15. TA is worse, while he is good defensively (benefited by great team D) he completely screws up the flow of the offense. never been a big fan.

  16. Scal I will miss you,and some of you are right a guy who knows the system works hard hustles listens to the coach is always ready to play and energies the home crowd nah he won’t be missed.

  17. Come on people! Lets stop with the crazy talk! Scalabrini is not better than Tony Allen.

  18. I’ve seen someone writing about Blount… maybe you’ve already seen this picture, but every time I find it hilarious:

  19. No worries, fellas. If it’s a “mild concussion”, as has been reported, Scal will be back at work in a couple of days. Doc (Rivers, that is) misstated the prognosis.

Scal has become important to this team. I had hoped POB would continue to show us good things, but alas he has not. He is, as it turns out, a knucklehead.

  20. Not gonna lie…I used to HATE Scal. He’s won me over this season. The dude is a scrapper and he has the ability to contribute to this team in a positive way.

  21. I used to hate to see Scal out there too, but lately he has played well. The team has been playing with more energy and he has been a part of that when he’s on the floor. That being said, I still cringe whenever he starts to dribble the ball.

  22. Oh no…I can see the excuse train pulling into the station now…I hope Veal Scallobrini is back for the Laker game…I want your full squad in tact for the beating…

    Go Lakers
