Celtics Give Fans A Break

Gary Dzen reports

The Celtics announced today that they will not increase season ticket holder loge and balcony ticket prices for the 2009-10 season, despite selling out 85 consecutive home games.

“We are extremely lucky to have such a loyal and passionate season ticket holder base and we want them to know how much we truly appreciate their support. While we have continued to invest in a championship caliber team, we recognize the economic climate has changed and we want to make it easier for our fans to continue to cheer for the Celtics at the Garden next season,” Celtics team president Rich Gotham said in a statement.

Kudos to them.  They’ve also announced a 12 month interest free payment plan.

  1. They already had the payment plan. They’ve had it since a few years ago.

  2. This is AMAZING. SO pumped! Thanks for reporting this guys we asked our rep about this only very recently and she said she didn’t know.

  3. But this one includes some sort of playoff payment plan too.

  4. Already had that too john. I think this just stretches it out more.

My current payment play starts in June, with a 20% payment, then 10% every month until February. But then Playoffs payments start in March, and get spread into May if they keep advancing.

Still, it’s great that they didn’t raise them, since they went up $4 a seat per game last year.
