Those Pesky Knicks

The Celtics played the first 42 minutes of this game like they were hungover. Then again, they didn’t arrive in NY until 3am.

My reaction after the 1st quarter: C’mon guys.

My reaction after the 2nd quarter: C’mon guys. Stop screwing around.

My reaction after the 3rd quarter: C’mon guys. Stop f*cking screwing around!!!

Fortunately they came alive midway through the fourth. Ray (22 pts, 6 assists) and Eddie (8 pts, 3 stls) got hot. Actually the whole team got hot. They shot 14-18 FG and outscored NY 38-24 in the final quarter.

  1. Awesome artsy photos Chuck! I like it!

House House House won the game for us tonight with big steals and 3’s LATE in the 4th. Hello Doc’! Anybody home.

    Still frustrated from last night

  2. I watched this game for pretty much the same reasons I watch horror movies. I watched even though I’ve pretty much given up on the NBA because it’s obviously the worst-officiated professional sports organization in the country, by far. This game provided more evidence, as the refs:

    – Called a tech on KG for moving his elbow 3 inches out. Ridiculous call.
    – Called a tech on Rondo for talking to the ref after a whistle. Uh, EVERYBODY was talking to the ref after just about EVERY whistle. But no, THIS time it’s a tech. Why? Because the ref felt like it. Arbitrary, stupid, unfair and ridiculous call.
    – Changed Paul’s 3 to a 2 because they didn’t have an angle on it. Everybody in TV-land saw that his foot was not on the line, but the refs, in their infinite stupidity, did not. Ridiculous call.
    – Fouled Ray out of the game because he was guarding his man too closely. No foul that anybody could see. Close, but still a ridiculous call.
    – Did I miss any…?

  3. you forgot the offensive foul on tony allen for “dipping the shoulder” when lebron and joe johnson do it all the time. the refs have it out for us we just have to face it.

  4. I missed the game but glad to see we won but from what chuck posted up we really didnt play great. We need to step it now and get some player signed so they can help our bench.

Did anyone swing be they had a horrible Idea of trading tony allen for ricky davis? I think that is not a good trade what do you guys think?

By the way awesome pics bro especially the rondo one. classic poster right there

  5. av…I so agree with you dude. The officiating in the NBA is by far the worst of all professional sports. David Stern needs to get on point and step up and fix this. But I doubt David will do so. He is such a douche bag.

  6. I meant “DRJ” not “AV”

  7. John and Chuck: Live Blog On Sunday vs. Spurs?

I remembered last year’s game vs. the Spurs in Boston – PP won it on the foul line late in the 4th.

Relax DRJ it is what it is let it go man.

  8. Sorry.. no live blog Sunday. Chuck and I will be at the game. But we can do something on Twitter

  9. Thats a crazy photo. Love it.

  10. DRJ, I agree. The ref variable needs to be eliminated. The games should be decided 100% by the teams. We need robot refs or something…….

  11. ^ or at least get instant replay so the calls are 100% correct.

  12. we need another ref in a video booth watching the game to make sure the first 3 get it right

  13. The most powerful answer is (a) video booth ref with instant replay that can override any call on the court. But I also like (b) reviewing the video of every game and assigning points to the refs based on how many calls they blow, and then adjusting their pay (!) on a sliding scale accordingly. And (c) write specific and clear rules on when and for what reasons a ref can call a tech. They’re completely out of control with that power on the court.

  14. Actually 2 video both refs, who both must agree to override the court ref(s).
