Tick, Tick, Tick

Rumors are flying fast and furiously as the trade deadline approaches. The Globe’s Marc Spears says there has been some rumors about the Celtics interest in Andres Nocioni.

He was just traded from Chicago to Sacramento, but there’s also concern Drew Gooden’s groin injury could throw a wrench into the finalization of that trade.

Meanwhile, more buzz from Cleveland (via Yahoo!):

The Phoenix Suns are discussing a potential trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers which would pair Shaquille O’Neal with LeBron James for a run at the NBA title, two NBA executives familiar with the talks said Thursday morning. In return, the Cavaliers would send Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic to the Suns.

I don’t see how this helps Cleveland.

And our raffle for Celtics tickets is winding down. There are approx. 15 tickets left. They are $5 each and you can buy a max of 4. These tickets carry a $101 face value – each.

  1. Here’s how it helps the Cavs, they get rid of 2 waists, for Shaq, when they play the Celtic’s in the E finals, now perk, baby, and powe small guys have to deal with either Big Z or Shaq at all times!!!!! you never know Maybe Both. Trust me it help the Cavs you now have the greatest player on the planet, 2 of the top 8 centers in the league, and oh yea a team of long ball shooters. this would worry Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Nocioni would be great for the C’s, if we got him and smith we’d be absolutely set; they would definitely be the 09 versian of pose and pj
The trade for Nocioni would either have to be a 4-1 deal where the c’s send TA and scal with POB and powe or baby
tony scal and house with house being bought out and rejoining the C’s

the four for one would open up roster spots for both smith and marbury

hmmmm Nocioni, smith, house, marbury, and powe/baby
that sounds a hell of a lot better than what we have now

  3. Boston.com is reporting the C’s may find some length in the way of Calvin Booth. Here’s the story: http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/celtics/extras/celtics_blog/2009/02/how_about_booth.html

  4. Wait….. Wait…. you don’t see how it would help the Cavs???

    Was that a typo?

  5. Hard to know which rumor has real legs

  6. And Chuck, if you really want my five dollars, you can just ask for it straight up instead of giving me a 1 in 40 chance to win two tickets.

  7. Yeah…and they are all just that until 3pm-rumors.

  8. I don’t fear Shaq. Doesn’t that trade force Varajeo to start? And I can’t imagine playing Shaq and Z together. I thought Pavlovic was a decent wing player and defender.

  9. I no I was in shock when those words were typed don’t see how it would help the Cavs??? Chuck your better than that

  10. Nevermind Tim. On second thought, I don’t want your money. Kinda forgot what a dick you are.

  11. Pavlovic is awful!!!!!!!!! like a euro Gerald Green only older and can’t jump as high

  12. I like this deal, a lot. Shaq for Wallace + Pavlovic means the Cavs lose two shooters for a big, fat, slow, old center who still, after all these years, cannot hit his free throws. Are you kidding? I would LOVE to see that happen. Way I see it, it would make the Cavs a lot easier to beat. Nah, but they won’t do this deal… it’s too late, and they’re not that stupid.

  13. When did Ben Wallace become a shooter?

  14. Shaq won’t stay healthy anyway, I hope the Cavs do it, let them swallow that 20 million dollar bullet for very little production.

  15. If you don’t want my money then send me back the 100+ dollars I’ve spent on your merchandise. What a dick I am, buying all of your stuff.

  16. Sorry… obviously Ben Wallace is no shooter…. don’t ask how that “2” got in there :)

  17. Im just busting balls DRJ, not trying to be a douche. Fact of the matter is that taller centers seem to kill us and I remember praying during the semis last year for Z to take a breather because he was hammering us. If they can take him out just to bring in Shaq that will prove to be a huge pain in the ass.

Still though, I would much rather see them get Shaq than Jamison. Jesus, the thought of them getting Jamison scares the shit out of me.

  18. Yeah, not too worried about Shaq… I just hope he ends up in either Cleveland or LA, because I think he’s an overall liability. Suns wanna dump him now because of his salary, but also because he does not fit into the uptempo game they’re reinstating now after firing Porter. And anyway, didn’t friggin’ Big Baby (!) practically eat his lunch last month at the Garden? Shaq to me is ridiculous…

  19. In his chat, ESPN’s Chad Ford also wonders why the hell Cleveland would make this deal. Not a good fit….
