Flip Saunders is gonna coach the Wiz… which means they should get ready for 4 years of 2nd round exits. But of mild interest to us is Sam Cassell’s return the bench… as a coach:
Sources tell Michael Lee that the Wizards are close to naming Flip Saunders their next head coach. In a story for Monday’s newspaper, he reports that Saunders is the top choice of GM Ernie Grunfeld, and that Saunders has already tabbed former NBA player Sam Cassell as an assistant, according to a source.
That’s what Sam wants to do. So good for him. 5 bucks says if a loose balls goes out of bounds near their bench, Sam picks it up and chucks up a shot.

Wow, thats great news for Sam Cassell, and even the wizards for landing flip saunders, who I think is one of the best coaches in the NBA, look at detroit now, look at minnesotta after he got fired from there.. yes hes never won a championship or even gotten to one, but hes always made good teams overachieve and make them look like they can contend, when they probably shouldnt be.
