KG will sit this game out as he has taken a step back in the recovery process. Glenn Davis will be starting against Atlanta in KG’s place.

The New Lucky
March 2, 2009
I was at the Celtics game last Friday when during a time-out, this video was played on the big screen a.k.a. “CelticVision”. This guy got the crowd going much more than Lucky would. I think he would have a shot at being the next Lucky if he were about 8 inches shorter and actually wore some Celtics gear.

Did the Celtics just drop one against the Clippers? Its true, the Celtics lost to the Clippers 93-91. The worst thing is I stayed up past 1 am for another west coast loss. Celtics struggled at the line shooting 22-32, and coughed up 20 turnovers. They were flat and showed the typical “tired” signs of a team at the end of a long road trip. Rajon Rondo continues to struggle at the line where he shot 50% (4-8) and finishing the night with only 3 assists. Pierce played through the dislocated thumb suffered in this game, and led the team in scoring with 20 points. Rondo and Allen followed with 17 points each. Zach Randolph put up big numbers leading all scorers with 30 points and grabbing 12 boards. Marcus Camby also posted a double-double with 14 and 11. Mikki Moore performed as expected, playing 11 minutes with 4 points off the bench. The C’s ended the 6 game road trip with a 4-2 record and were plagued with injuries during the west coast trip. As previously mentioned, Paul Pierce left this game briefly with a dislocated right thumb. Pierce did return and as the story goes, he will be re-evaluated in Boston.

The Denver Nuggets handed the Celtics their second loss of the season in Boston back in Novemeber. So the C’s came out with an objective, blow the Nuggets out in their house, so they did. The C’s won their second straight without KG in Denver, 114- 76 . Rajon Rondo posted a near triple double (14 pts, 8 assists, 8 reb), while Paul Pierce (22 pts, 6 reb) and Ray Allen (26 pts, 6 reb) exposed the Nuggets defense. J.R. Giddens scored his first NBA hoop in this game as we got a good look at the Celtics bench for the better half of the fourth quarter. The C’s played great defense in this game holding Denver to 76 pts and 34.7% from the floor. Boston is now 5-0 without Garnett this season and posted two convincing victories in a row. Scal, while filling in for Garnett, left the game in the second with a cervical sprain. There are no new updates on Scalabrine’s condition, but I would not be surprised if he sits out the next game given his recent head injuries.
That Was Ugly
February 20, 2009
It is safe to say there wasn’t anything pretty about this game, especially the fact that it ended at 1:30am. The inability to grab the rebound off of Kirilenko’s second foul shot destroyed any chances of sending the game into overtime. KG going down in the first half put pressure on the second unit to step up, but Perk, Powe, and Scal got into foul trouble leaving a void down low. The box score will tell the rest of the story. As far as the story on KG, his knee will be re-evaluated in Phoenix on Friday.
KG Strains Right Knee
February 20, 2009
Kevin Garnett left the game late in the first half with a right leg injury. He attempted a halftime warm-up but made his way back to the locker room before the beginning of the second half. The extent of his injuries are unknown, but we do know it is his knee and he will not return for the second half.
“Bango” Tears ACL
February 19, 2009
After laughing my ass off for good 5 minutes, I realized that things were serious and Milwaukee’s mascot “Bango” tore his ACL while falling through the hoop. So I watched it again and, as we all would, laughed my ass off some more. On top of tearing his ACL, he gets hit in the nuts before falling through the hoop.
